Personal Projects

A selection of pieces I have made for myself or friends purely for fun! When I make for myself, I usually try to focus on upcycling old clothing or making use of fabric offcuts that have been floating around my studio for a while. If any of my fabric scraps are natural fibres and light in colour, you can bet they will usually end up getting tie-dyed at one point or another. Also – I really enjoy making skirts! Particularly of a brightly coloured festival aesthetic.

A favourite of mine in this gallery is the zig zag stripe teal and orange dress – my most recent endeavour! After spending a long time creating outfits with inserts in for other people, I decided it was time to make something for myself. The dress is made up of super comfortable stretch jersey with long sleeves. Perfect for the spring and autumn seasons.

It’s really wonderful to be able to use my skills outside of the daily hustle so I can take time to remind myself why I loved to learn to sew in the first place. Making clothing and doing crafts is very much in my core as a person, so it makes sense to show off some personal projects right here. Doing this also gives me room to experiment with different techniques and have a go at being designer without the pressure of a deadline to think about.
